Overview:

WGR Sports Radio 550, The Voice of the Fans is looking for energetic, engaging, and impactful full time Show Hosts to join our Audacy Buffalo team.
WGR Sports Radio 550 is a cornerstone of Buffalo’s sports culture, serving as a central voice, connecting fans across Western New York while fostering a strong sense of community through live coverage, local discussion, and shared passion for the Bills and Sabres.

The ideal candidates are confident communicators with a strong on-air presence, quick thinking, extensive sports knowledge, specially of the local professional teams and their leagues.
This role requires prior broadcast hosting experience, technical and digital skills and a passion for connecting with listeners on a local level, contribute to show preparation, and maintaining WGR’s high standard of credibility and professionalism.

The anticipated starting salary range for New York-based individuals expressing interest in this position is $35,000.00/Yr.-$55,000.00/Yr.. 

Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities and location of the applicant, as well as internal and external equity.

Responsibilities

What You'll Do:

 

  • Create original content and performing live broadcasts that are entertaining and informative.
  • Participate and create original content for all social media platforms; managing online personality presence
  • Protect the station’s FCC license
  • Monitor the music and commercial logs for the airshift
  • Operate the control board and perform production work
  • Other duties as required by management

Qualifications

Required & Preferred:

 

  • Candidates must exude personality and not be afraid to have strong opinions as well as possess the ability to entertain in person.
  • This unique individual should possess a strong media background and have a working knowledge of the local professional sports teams and their leagues.
  • Must be an excellent communicator with strong creative skills.
  • Must have working knowledge of studio audio equipment necessary for on-air execution.
  • Knowledge of the format and audience required.
