Responsibilities

What You'll Do:

  • Provide advanced troubleshooting and administration of Active Directory, Domain architecture, Microsoft & Linux operating systems, and legacy infrastructure (physical/virtual servers).
  • Manage and support Google Cloud VMware Engine (GCVE) and Google Cloud Platform (GCP) virtual environments, ensuring stability, availability, and security.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines using tools such as GitLab CI/CD, integrating with Terraform for infrastructure-as-code (IaC) automation.
  • Leverage Terraform to provision, manage, and scale infrastructure resources across AWS and GCP environments.
  • Contribute to containerization and orchestration initiatives (Docker, Kubernetes preferred) to modernize workloads.
  • Use administrative tools, scripting (PowerShell, Python, Bash), and automation frameworks to reduce manual tasks and improve operational efficiency.
  • Configure, monitor, and maintain Microsoft SQL Server, including Always-On Availability Groups, performance tuning, and maintenance jobs.
  • Support networking (LAN, WAN, Wi-Fi), server administration, VDI, backup and disaster recovery, and cloud-hosted email platforms.
  • Collaborate with Security Operations to maintain the organization’s security posture, ensuring compliance and governance alignment across hybrid environments.
  • Document standard operating policies, procedures, and runbooks for both legacy and cloud-native platforms.
  • Perform root-cause analysis for incidents and identify opportunities for automation and optimization.
  • Mentor junior team members and cross-train Windows Systems Administrators on cloud and DevOps practices.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders and technical teams to ensure alignment of systems engineering solutions with organizational goals.

Qualifications

More About You:

  • 7+ years of Systems Administration / Engineering experience across hybrid infrastructure (legacy + cloud).
  • Hands-on experience with Google Cloud VMware Engine (GCVE), GCP, and AWS.
  • Strong understanding of DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure automation.
  • Proficiency with Terraform (required); familiarity with GitLab CI/CD and other automation tools strongly preferred.
  • Scripting expertise (PowerShell, Bash, Python, or equivalent).
  • Experience with SQL Server administration and availability groups.
  • Strong knowledge of networking, virtualization (VMware vSphere, hyper-converged solutions), and backup/DR strategies.
  • Solid understanding of IAM, SSO, and security governance in hybrid environments.
  • Strong problem-solving and root cause analysis skills; able to communicate effectively to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Proven ability to mentor and collaborate with team members, while engaging effectively with stakeholders.
