Boston's MIX 104.1 (WWBX-FM) is looking for the next great talent to join our morning show with Karson & Kennedy. Applicants should be smart, curious, funny, fearless, tech savvy, well-prepped and organized, a good conversationalist and storyteller, a great listener, and eager to share their life on the air.  Strong social media skills and experience are vital. Writing and video skills are necessary and candidates must be excellent at appearances.  Previous on-air experience is ideal, but not necessary---but a passion for entertainment and audience connection is important!  The ideal candidate is a strong believer in a collaborative team-environment, as well as driven and self-motivated to succeed in a highly competitive, fast-paced radio landscape.

 

Responsibilities

What You'll Do:

 

  • Perform and execute content driven show as host/on-air personality.
  • Develop and post unique content to station website and social media.
  • Collaborate with Brand Manager and other employees on developing unique content for show.
  • Make on-air personality and lifestyle contributions to the show in a supporting role.
  • Make regular appearances to promote station, show, and sponsors.
  • Complete daily commercial production assignments.
  • Attend regularly scheduled staff meetings and weekly coaching sessions.
  • Contribute ideas for future programming and promotional campaigns for station and/or show.
  • Perform additional off-air programming and/or promotional support tasks as requested as part of full-time work week.
  • This position requires working early mornings and may also require working late evenings, weekends, and holidays. Reliable transportation to worksite outside of the normal operating hours of public transportation is essential.

 

Qualifications

 

  • Must be an excellent communicator with strong creative skills
  • Must be able to attend appearances
  • Must have writing experience
  • Must have solid productions skills and a strong working knowledge of studio audio equipment necessary for on-air and production execution, including on-air digital systems
  • Knowledge of the format and audience required
  • Video skills also necessary
  • A valid driver’s license, satisfactory completion of a motor vehicle record check, and, if the position requires use of applicant’s own vehicle, proof of insurance, is required
