Board Operator

Audacy San Diego has openings for experienced Part Time Board Operators on 97.3 The Fan.  This opportunity puts you behind the controls during live, locally produced shows, and sporting events. Must have a general understanding of professional sports, an ear for quality audio mixing, and ability to identify/edit relevant sports audio.  Experience operating a broadcast console and/or producing an on-air show is preferred. 


What You'll Do:

Job responsibilities:

  • Run board for talk shows and Padres baseball games
  • Manage on-air content
  • Edit audio files
  • Screen calls
  • Generate digital content for
  • Engage with the listener community
  • Proudly represent 97.3 The Fan while interacting with on-air guests, experts and officials
  • Protects the company’s FCC license
  • Must be able to perform with little supervision


More About You:


  • Candidates should have a minimum of 2 years previous experience operating a studio console and running live talk shows and play-by-play programming.
  • Should be proficient in computer assisted broadcast programs, audio editing software such as Adobe Audition, social media, and have strong writing skills.
  • Essential that you are available middays, nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Is dependable, flexible, friendly, and a real team player who can pinch-hit when needed for other dayparts, including those outside regular business hours.
  • We're looking for a self-motivated person who can flourish in a supporting role with a variety of host personalities.
  • Is an excellent communicator, collaborative problem solver, eager news consumer?
  • Is cool under high-pressure, dynamic environment like breaking news, major events and serious weather situations
