Audacy is launching an exciting transformation of its digital news operations and is seeking talented digital journalists with a passion for audio storytelling. This role reports into the Managing Producer of Podcasts and presents an opportunity to join an award-winning audio news operation that has built a large loyal listening audience over many years and now seeks to extend its reach by creating and distributing an array of new podcast content.


What You'll Do:


  • Produce and edit podcasts and custom audio on-demand content
  • Develop story ideas and topical and feature podcast series and specials
  • Report, research and write podcast and custom audio segments 
  • Coordinate production and logistics in studio and in the field
  • Direct host talent
  • Work with newsrooms and digital news leads to curate and tailor broadcast audio segments for digital distribution
  • Publish audio stories and podcasts on all digital platforms
  • Write and edit headlines and text to position audio and multimedia content for maximum engagement across multiple platforms, including social media channels


More About You:



  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 2+ years of experience producing, editing, and distributing podcasts and multimedia digital news content
  • Proficiency in Adobe Audition, Pro Tools or comparable non-linear digital audio editing software
  • Familiarity with best practices on all social media platforms
  • Strong news judgment and writing skills and ability to work under deadline pressure
  • Experience with content management/online publishing systems
  •  Ability to work calmly in a fast-paced, often hectic environment
  •  Ability to multi-task and prioritize assignments while under deadline pressure

Desired Characteristics:


  •  Heavy consumer of podcasts and digital audio streams on all platforms 
  •  Technological savvy around latest web and mobile apps
  •  Experience with podcast & web analytics including Google analytics, Triton, Chartbeat
  •  Proficiency in Adobe Premiere or comparable non-linear video editing software
  •  Graphic design experience, including Photoshop and After Effects or comparable
  •  Avid social media user
  •  Willingness to experiment and innovate
  •  Strong organizational skills and solid work ethic
  •  Ability to take direction well and provide self-direction
  •  Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Availability on weekends, evenings and holidays may be required
