KNX 1070 Newsradio, Southern California's only all-news radio station, is seeking an experienced, dynamic and creative broadcast journalist who lives and breathes the local market. The successful candidate has a 24/7 attitude for news gathering, and is an energetic, enthusiastic and creative team player and a compelling story teller with the desire and ability to deliver news quickly and concisely.  Experience covering live, breaking news is a must. 




  • Gather news and report from the field on a day-to-day basis
  • Write scripts and ad-lib material for stories
  • Interview news makers
  • Use social media accounts to gather news and promote content
  • Develop and pitch story ideas
  • Work with newsroom staff to meet on-air and digital content demands
  • Related duties as necessary


  • At least 3 years' large to major market reporting experience required 
  • A conversational, engaging delivery with or without a script
  • Ability to multitask and meet constant and tight deadlines
  • Ability to interpret and simplify complex copy
  • Ability to work flexible and irregular hours
  • Basic audio editing skills
  • Extensive knowledge of Los Angeles area and Southern California
  • Anchor experience and fluency in Spanish language preferred  
  • Valid driver's license
  • Proof of COVID-19 vaccination
