Responsibilities

1010 WINS, the nation's most listened to all-news radio station, is seeking an experienced, dynamic broadcast journalist. The successful candidate will understand the New York City market and its people, write and deliver compelling stories, and have a 24/7 attitude for news gathering. We seek someone who can leverage social media, anchor when needed, and is passionate about holding officials accountable for their decisions. We are the megaphone of NYC so you must believe in the power of community engagement. Live, breaking news experience is a must.

Qualifications

* At least 3 years’ experience in an on-air role at a medium- or large-market news station, including field reporting.
* Ability to develop and effectively pitch story ideas
* A conversational, engaging delivery with or without a script
* Ability to interpret and simplify complex copy
* Comfort with audio editing tools
* Comfort with using social media to gather news and promote content
* Knowledge of legal guidelines that govern broadcast media
* Ability to work flexible and irregular hours
* A valid driver’s license, satisfactory completion of a motor vehicle record check, and, if the position requires use of applicant’s own vehicle, proof of insurance, is required
